Deep Inside is a nine minute film which took three years to complete. The drawings were mostly done with a black ball point pen on three hole punched 8 1/2" x 11" xerox paper. Then colored in Photoshop. The first hundred or so drawings were done with my non dominant left hand. I wanted to make sure with this animation, that I didn't overwork the drawings. I wanted the animation to exist as a living sketchbook.

"DEEP INSIDE"

This experimental short film explores the dangers of
obsession and artistic freedom. Through state of the
art animation, the imagination of a disturbed artist
can be fully realized. The female character in the
film desperately tries to communicate with her lover
but it may be too late. His fantasy world has engulfed
his inner being.

The film symbolizes the age old struggle of the
artist. To reach into one's being and let go of the
outer world is necessary to find one's self but there
is a risk of loosing one's sanity in the process.

The following are stills from my animated short film "Deep Inside"

The notion of doing an erotic animation was simply something I personally wanted to see, something I couldn't find elsewhere.

I worked with several figure models over the three year time period. The models would take sequential poses, about five minutes each. Sometimes the models would get carried away with the crazy poses which was great fun to draw. I think the total number of drawings is about seven thousand. I did only six drawings per second for most of the animation but several sequences were done as high as fifteen to thirty drawings per second.

There is about three minutes of life action in the film as well. Originally I intended to do this as a live action film but the erotic animation just kind of took over.

I think this was a great project for me because I was able to fully explore areas that were on my mind at the time with no restrictions what so ever. I had no intention to show this film to the public but to simply enjoy the process of creation. Ironically, I did end up putting some of the stuff online and people really seemed to like this material. Especially women, which I was surprised and delighted by. The open female sexuality was something totally new to animation.

Soon after building a substantial fan base, everything was suddenly was banned from YouTube, Myspace, and Photo Bucket. Discouraged, I never put the whole film on the internet again. Consequently though, a film festival in Brazil happen to see the film footage before it was removed from the internet and invited my to submit the full version of the film to there erotic film festival. They also asked if I was interested in going there for the event. I did end up going and it was an amazing experience.

I actually plan on adding more animation to this film when the inspiration strikes me. I recommended to anyone who is interested in exploring erotic art to push forward and allow yourself to be free to express your feelings. Any inclination you have and explore will help you discover more about yourself, which I think is the greatest tool for any artist to have.

Above are several other areas to see my curent work.
These short animations are part of an on going project
for me. When ever I feel the impulse to animate, I'll add
more drawings to this growing film. I some times hire
models, or draw friends, or even just draw from my
imagination. My goal is to allow my line drawings to live
without any form of self consciousnesses.
